All camshafts feature a 3-bolt timing gear pattern.

 

LOBES DESIGNED IN HOUSE AT BTR! The LS3 is an excellent starting point for making great power. That means you hardly have to breathe on it to start making good power. The lobe design on this grind is custom tailored to give you and your valvetrain an easy ride. Aggressive and incorrect lobe choice can cause chaos on supporting engine components, especially when it's in a car that is going to be gobbling up miles on the street. The Stage 1 cam has proven to make over 400whp and does not require an aftermarket torque converter in automatic applications. However, adding one will help unlock this cam's full potential. A small bump in idle lope that won't compromise drivability.

STG 2 With a history of making 470+ whp when accompanied by the proper bolt-ons, all while maintaining stock-like driving characteristics, this camshaft has found a permanent home on the shelves at BTR. Building on the easy integration of this grind, it should be noted that stock torque converters in G8 GT's, 5th Gen Camaro's, and C6 Corvettes work perfectly with this grind!

STG 3 This camshaft will not require any flycutting of pistons with OEM LS3 combustion chamber size. If you mill your heads, it is always advised to check piston-to-valve clearance. We have seen 480 whp from this grind and supporting modifications (stock cylinder heads). If you add a set of good flowing cylinder heads to the mix, clearing the 500 horsepower mark is doable. If your application has an automatic transmission, you will need an aftermarket torque converter.

STG 4 LS3 grind has been utilized on many max effort combinations with great success. We see 500+ whp with the addition of proper bolt-ons, while maintaining the durability you come to expect from BTR components. It is ground with nitrous in mind as well, working well with up to 300 horsepower worth of night night juice. For proper piston-to-valve clearance, you cannot mill your cylinder heads without the possibility of needing to flycut your pistons. An aftermarket converter is a necessity for automatic applications.
